All of the uvex safety group’s manufacturing plants have therefore committed themselves to sustainable, socially responsible actions. uvex subsidiaries and manufacturing plants for hearing protection and safety footwear have assumed a pioneering role in the aim of the Fürth family company to incorporate economy, ecology and social responsibility in its activities.

In view of that, the ultra-modern production and in-house R&D department of uvex’s manufacturing facility for safety footwear, uvex safety Cagi, is located in Ceva, Italy. This means that manufacturing takes place where 98% of uvex customers are based, and the short delivery distances and material deliveries via Italian harbours reduce transport routes and therefore protect our environment.

The company has aligned and optimised its entire supply chain to be sustainable and is particularly focusing on eight areas in this regard. Everything is being done to reduce energy use to a minimum, for example. As a result, the manufacture of uvex protective footwear is saving as much energy as an average family uses in 10 years and is therefore making an important contribution to climate protection.

In addition, all suppliers and business partners are bound to the uvex social standard. This guarantees adherence to ethical principles, basic human rights and the freedom of workers in performing their duties. Independent testing institutes inspect this at regular intervals. Furthermore, certification of ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 is emphasized in the choice of business partners.
