uvex astrospec 2.0 – new edition of a classic!

Redesign of the most successful safety spectacles of all time


When the uvex astrospec range came onto the market in 1990, it was a design revolution and soon developed into the most popular safety spectacles in the world. To date over 50 million pairs have been sold worldwide. The uvex safety group is now presenting a successor that combines the classic design of the astrospec with the features of modern safety spectacles.

In terms of design, the uvex astrospec 2.0 draws on the classic safety spectacles presented at the beginning of the nineties, but offers all the features of modern uvex safety spectacles.

The likeness which draws on the roots of the original astrospec is immediately recognisable in the case of the uvex astrospec 2.0, namely the typical arch in the middle section of the frame and the shape of the lens are design elements with recognition value. As well as the innovative look, the new uvex astrospec 2.0 above all offers very high wearing comfort for all face shapes. The combination of hard and soft components ensures a firm grip without pressure marks even when worn for a long time. The flexible 2K straps and adjustable inclination enable a perfect fit.

The panorama lens made from polycarbonate has integrated side protection for optimum eye area protection of the user. The large field of vision with a flat curve offers an optimum optical quality grade. The tried and trusted uvex coating systems ensure an optimum anti-fogging effect and scratch resistance. A pleasant eye environment is achieved through ventilation with a labyrinth seal, an aeration system that also prevents the direct penetration of liquids. In contrast to its predecessor, the uvex astrospec 2.0 comes in a flat-fold design.
