Fuerth, October 10, 2010: On 8 September 2010, the uvex motion carbon safety shoe, part of the uvex carbon product system, was awarded the 2010 Innovation Polyurethane Award by the trade association Fachverband Schaumstoffe und Polyurethane e. V. (FSK).

Joachim Flemming, Footwear Product Group Manager, accepted the award on behalf of the uvex safety group at a ceremony during the 22nd Foam Conference in Stade/ Hamburg. “The FSK 2010 Innovation Polyurethane Award is confirmation of our ongoing commitment to develop innovations that meet market needs and consequently remain true to our mission of protecting people,” comments Joachim Flemming.

uvex motion carbon has two outstanding innovative features. Firstly, the shoe uses Bayflex Lightweight Technology from Bayer MaterialScience in the polyurethane midsoles. This produces a weight saving of 25 % in the midsole and ensures excellent shock absorption and comfort. In addition, uvex motion carbon is the first safety shoe in the world with adsorptive high-tech material SARATECH® in the shaft. The adsorptive carbon beads are firmly embedded in the inner lining, do not pose any hazard to health and permanently reduce offensive odours caused by sweating.
