uvex - Individual PPE - Optics

  • Individual PPE - Optics

Protective safety glasses according to EN 166 are required by law, although they will only be worn reliably if they are tailored to the wearer’s special needs. Individual PPE in the area of optics are adapted to vision problems and combine the regular spectacles with safety goggles for use at work. Ametropic employees will also be able to use individually fitted safety googles in their free time and the employer can rely on them wearing the mandatory protective equipment during work hours.

The glass material and focus type correspond to the individual vision requirement and that of the working environment. Our uvex product highlights in optics include the rimless protective prescription glasses series uvex RX gravity zero and the explicitly sportive framed series uvex RX sp. Qualities of uvex Protective Prescription Glasses

Our uvex protective prescription glasses match the European norm 166. Fitting of this part of individual PPE includes evaluating various glass materials, focus types and other characteristics. Eyewear in individual personal protective equipment requires industry-specific materials that are either especially hard or extremely light-weight. Focus types bear in mind the need for varifocal lenses and other special forms in optics. By request, a UV 400 coating absorbs dangerous ultraviolet rays and adapts safety glasses to use in fields such as dermatology during PUVA treatments. Antireflexion coating of glasses can minimize reflections, resulting in enhanced translucency and decreased visual discomfort.
