Why wear **assembly gloves?**

Protective gloves are part of personal protective equipment (PPE) and must be worn when, despite all possible safety measures – such as replacing hazardous substances or working methods with safer alternatives – there remains a certain risk of hand injuries.

The protective performance of assembly gloves is determined by their cut protection level. The level of a glove is determined by the **EN 388 standard**. The assembly gloves are tested for the following properties:

### All-round protective gloves
Many assembly gloves are true all-rounders – in many work areas it is necessary to do fine work while protecting your hands. For example, they are also used as **car gloves** or **locksmith gloves**.
### Forearm protection
The ideal complement to the assembly glove is a **forearm protector** such as **the uvex C500 sleeve** or **uvex unidur sleeve C**. Cotton or cotton blend is often the basis or lining for assembly gloves. The fibre offers a particularly high level of comfort when it comes into **direct contact with the skin**: cotton fabric absorbs moisture well and is breathable. This is especially important for **winter assembly gloves** that need to be as warm as possible, but need to keep moisture out from the inside and outside.
A good alternative to cotton are **bamboo fibers**. While the basic structure of work gloves is usually made of soft fabrics such as bamboo or cotton, they are usually covered with other materials that are less slippery and ensure a good **grip on tools and components** . This coating is often found **on the fingertips, on the back of the hand and on the top of the fingers**. In addition, complete coatings made of these plastic materials make the assembly gloves **waterproof**.
Nylon assembly gloves **and** nitrile assembly gloves **are particularly common**. Nylon, also known as polyamide, is a stretchable plastic compound made from petroleum. Nitrile is a stretchy synthetic rubber that resembles latex, but is far more tear-resistant and more suitable for allergy sufferers.
