The VBG (Verwaltungs­Berufsgenossenschaft – Employers’ Liability Insurance Association) is a statutory accident insurance institution for temporary employment agencies, security companies, banks, insurance companies and almost 100 other sectors in Germany.

According to the German Social Code, VBG is primarily tasked with preventing work- and commute-related accidents, occupational illnesses and work-related health risks using any suitable means. VBG also rewards member companies that implement special measures for preventing accidents and maintaining employee health that exceed legal obligations through the current bonus procedure.

How much is the maximum bonus per year?

Only VBG members in the following sectors are eligible to apply to participate in the bonus procedure:

• Security companies
• Temporary employment agencies
• Sports companies with paid sportspersons
• Companies in the glass industry as well as the heavy ceramics and fine ceramics industries
• Railways and railway services

• Safety spectacles: Sunglasses that are worn during work in accordance with DIN EN 166 or DIN EN 172. The bonus is 40%
• Prescription safety spectacles: The bonus is 40% of the net investment costs
• Hearing protection otoplastics: The bonus is 40% of the net investment costs
• Automatic welder safety helmet: The bonus is 40% of the net investment cost per unit
• High-visibility protective clothing: with simultaneous protection against the cold and weather conditions in accordance with EN ISO 20471 and EN 342 and/or EN 343. The bonus is 40% of the net investment costs

The maximum per year is EUR 10,000 plus one thousandth of the remuneration of the insured party noted in the payment notification for the previous calendar year (in the case of a party insured on a voluntary basis, the amount is based on the insurance sum); however, the maximum total amount is EUR 50,000.
