Science Based Targets

Science-based targets (SBTs) are ambitious goals designed to keep global warming resulting from greenhouse gases produced by companies, within 1.5°C of pre-industrial levels. The Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) supports and controls companies in meeting their emission reduction targets.

At uvex

At uvex, we have set ourselves the goal of reducing absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions across the group by 42% by 2030 (FY 22/23 as the base year). Absolute Scope 3 emissions from purchased goods and services, upstream and downstream transportation and distribution and end-of-life treatment of sold products are also to be reduced by 25% over the same period. In August 2025, we received validation of our targets from the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). This validation underlines that the uvex group’s climate targets are ambitious and in line with the Paris Climate Agreement.
