uvex at A+A – #protectingplanet for greater sustainability
uvex was once again attending the A+A 2021 from October 26 - 29. Our focus for this year’s trade fair was sustainability. This is because as a group of companies, our goal is to protect all our employees, customers and partners in the most complete sense – environmentally, socially and financially. This is reflected in our sustainability motto “protecting planet”: a group-wide concept that redefines sustainability within the uvex group.
This motto accompanied us at A+A 2021 as we presented exclusive product highlights as well as introducing new products with an emphasis on sustainability. We also offered comprehensive information on the uvex #protectingplanet mission, interviews with our management team and product managers and inspiring insights into our new products.

Carsten Baumgarten about product highlights and sustainability at the production site
Carsten Baumgarten, Managing Director of UVEX SAFETY Gloves, presents this year's safety gloves product highlight, the uvex Bamboo Twin Flex. Furthermore he tells us how the topic of sustainability influences the production site in Lüneburg and how pollution management is the focus for product development and the product:
Laurent Rebstock on safety shoe highlights and sustainability for product & production
Laurent Rebstock, Head of PGM Marketing Footwear, even presents three safety shoe highlight products: the uvex 1 G2 planet and the uvex 3 from uvex safety with great features and even a CO2 footprint calculation, as well as the RUN-R from HECKEL. He also provides exciting insights into the topic of sustainability, starting with the clean design of the shoe, to pollutant-free and recycled materials, waste reduction and the production site in Ceva, Italy.

Dr Marco Wacker, Director SBU Eyewear/Head, presents the special product and electronic highlights on this year's exhibition.These include active electronic earmuffs with the RAL (Real Active Listening) function, the uvex aXess one, as well as our new flexible 3in1 safety eyewear range. Safety shoes
The uvex 3 has been specially developed for the extreme demands faced in heavy-duty applications. It combines the required durability with a dynamic, sporty design and was developed in line with the uvex binom x principle. The principle is an approach to creating new products that combines the essential biomechanical functions of the body with the functions of the footwear, thus creating a harmonious unit consisting of body, footwear and environment.

From the upper to the sole, the new uvex 1 G2 planet offers both sustainability and performance in one. The particularly lightweight safety shoes meet the requirements of standard DIN EN ISO 14021:2016 and are made up of – in terms of their weight – up to 25% recycled materials, without sacrificing their protective qualities and degree of comfort compared with the well-known uvex 1 G2 models.

uvex 2 construction was specially designed to meet the specific challenges of the construction industry, high mechanical requirements and extreme weather conditions: rugged, lightweight and modern S3 lace-up safety boots featuring a wide fit and water-resistant leather with uvex waterstop technology.
Workwear
The uvex suXXeed greencycle planet is the first uvex workwear collection to be fully compostable. All the materials we use are certified according to the Cradle to Cradle™ principle and are 100% biodegradable. Including the packaging!
Safety Gloves
A smooth fit thanks to natural bamboo fibres and the high, rapid-action moisture-absorbing capacity of the uvex Bamboo TwinFlex® D xg ensure long-lasting comfort and high wearer acceptance. With a flexible fit thanks to the natural bamboo fibre, the glove adapts precisely to fit the shape of the hand within 3 to 5 minutes of wearing.
Hearing protection
uvex aXess one are active electronic earmuffs with an RAL (real active listening) function. This function gives the wearer the feeling of actively perceiving their environment – despite wearing hearing protection. This means that communication with others is still possible and warning signals can be heard more easily. The volume of ambient noise can be adjusted to suit your individual needs.
Safety Glasses
The uvex i-range is a versatile 3-in-1 safety eyewear line that allows wearers to select the right product for virtually any work environment. Whether you opt for the uvex i-guard, uvex i-guard+ or uvex i-lite, all 3 safety spectacles offer a large, flat lens design, multi-stage angle adjustment for the side arms and hard-wearing polycarbonate lens with tried-and-tested uvex supravision coating technology for permanent anti-fog and scratch-resistant protection.
The uvex i-range planet is the sustainable extension of our new 3in1 safety eyewear range, which covers almost every risk and work area with optimal products. We use recycled and bio-based materials for our innovative safety eyewear - in the interest of an environmentally friendly and resource-saving production. The quality of our safety eyewear (e.g. mechanical strength, UV protection, design and comfort) are not affected in any way.
Thanks to innovative production technology, uvex pure-fit safety spectacles can be manufactured fully automatically from just one material without the need for additional assembly. They are made entirely of polycarbonate and are therefore 100% recyclable – as is the product packaging. This makes the uvex pure-fit an extremely sustainable solution.

Safety Helmets
The uvex pheos faceguard is an innovative face protection system. The design consists of a height- and width-adjustable head strap as well as a high-quality mesh visor. The visor can be locked in any position and features uvex coating technology for a continuous fog-free view. The earmuffs can be attached and removed quickly using a rotating mechanism. The uvex phynomic pro 2 is a safety glove with an excellent tactile feel for assembly activities in slightly damp/oily areas.

The uvex u-chem 3500 chemical protection gloves are ideal for handling a wide variety of chemicals.
uvex unilite 7710F
The uvex unilite 7710F seamless nylon assembly gloves are perfect for work in dry, damp/wet and oily environments thanks to their texture and the all-over NBR coating with grip finish on the palms.
uvex arc protect g1
The uvex arc protect g1 safety gloves provide reliable protection against the thermal discharge of a short circuit electric arc. The modacrylic/cotton knit is flame-retardant and protects the wearer from second-degree skin burns.
uvex power protect V1000
The uvex power protect V1000 safety gloves provide reliable protection against electrical voltage up to 1000 V. The natural latex is highly insulating and protects the wearer from electrical discharges through the body.
uvex u-fit ft
The uvex u-fit ft is a thin and reliable disposable glove made of nitrile rubber. The good grip of the protective glove is further enhanced by roughened fingertips.
uvex KX10
The uvex KX10 are ear defenders with a new rubberised surface. The earmuffs thereby guarantee increased grip and a secure fit, ideal for oily or damp environments.
uvex pheos planet
The helmet shell is made of up to 30 per cent bioplastic. The organic raw material, sugar cane, is converted using a process that complies with the strictest quality requirements and achieves high stability and strength.
uvex RX goggle 9501
The uvex RX goggle 9501 goggles are individually adjusted to the vision of the wearer and thereby offer optimum protection in the workplace, such as in laboratories, when handling chemicals.
uvex high-fit flex RS uvex high-fit duro RS
The uvex high-fit flex RS and uvex high-fit duro RS are otoplastic hearing protection solutions that are individually adjusted to the wearer’s ear canal and feature new linear filter technology and a variety of filter strengths.
