The VBG (VerwaltungsBerufsgenossenschaft – Employers’ Liability Insurance Association) is a statutory accident insurance institution for temporary employment agencies, security companies, banks, insurance companies and almost 100 other sectors in Germany. According to its articles of association, the duties of the BG BAU include promoting occupational safety and protecting health in business operations throughout the construction sector.
According to the German Social Code, VBG is primarily tasked with preventing work- and commute-related accidents, occupational illnesses and work-related health risks using any suitable means. VBG also rewards member companies that implement special measures for preventing accidents and maintaining employee health that exceed legal obligations through the current bonus procedure.
