uvex lone worker protection
Intelligent protection with a system
Fuerth - The uvex safety group, a provider of head-to-toe personal protective equipment (PPE), is expanding its offering to include protection for lone workers: with a customer- and user-oriented one-stop solution for emergency alerting. Under the motto "versatile, reliable, networked", a complete package has been created that is unique in this constellation on the market. In addition to a wide range of devices, it also includes a digital platform and all services up to and including an integrated emergency control centre.
Depending on the customer's wishes and requirement profile, uvex offers a wide range of choices: for example, a certified emergency signalling device, as well as a smart shoe sole, but also smartwatches from Samsung can be perfectly integrated into the safety network by uvex. Incidentally, with the uvex system, the alarm can be triggered either by SOS button, fall detection, dead man's switch, time or situation alarm as well as remote lifecheck, depending on the device and setup. A particularly exciting approach is the insole developed by TRAXs that is simply inserted into the shoe. The built-in sensor technology automatically detects whether the employee is motionless after an incident and sends the emergency call. To avoid false alarms, a pre-alarm is given shortly beforehand so that countermeasures can still be taken if everything is alright.
"We combine a wide range of sensor-based emergency signal devices with a customised digital SOS platform and all the necessary services, first and foremost a dedicated rescue control centre, powered by Fuerst," explains Marcel-Olivier v. Beaulieu Marconnay, Head of New Business Development at uvex. In addition, special circumstances often require individual features that classic emergency signal devices alone cannot provide. One example of possible add-ons are the Bluetooth beacons offered by uvex, which enable people to be located in an emergency even where there is no GPS reception.
Whether via PNG, smartphone/-watch or the "smart sole": the emergency call always ends up at the Fuerst Group's rescue control centre, which is manned around the clock. This ensures that help arrives immediately in the event of an emergency. For this purpose, an individually coordinated message chain is defined for each customer, which is processed and logged in the event of an emergency. The control centre is a standard part of the Lone Worker service portfolio to ensure all-round protection for people working alone. "It has been shown that if the reporting chain is organised internally, media breaks can occur, so that alarms go nowhere. An example of this is when the receiving end of alarms is on holiday, sick or not at work. In this case, a professional rescue control centre ensures that no alarm goes nowhere," says v. Beaulieu Marconnay, explaining the decision. Thus, it became apparent that only a complete ecosystem of embody systems, digital SOS platform and user-oriented services offers a seamless safety net. Companies should not settle for less, because every minute counts when it comes to saving lives.
