Fully sustainable workwear

uvex has developed the first completely compostable workwear collection. Every piece of fabric, button and label in the uvex suXXeed greencycle planet collection is biodegradable. At the end of the product's life, all of it can be returned to the natural cycle. The Cradle to Cradle certified™ Gold Level workwear is setting new standards in terms of sustainability.

With the uvex suXXeed greencycle planet collection, the Fuerth-based company has succeeded in creating the first workwear collection that is fully compatible with the biological cycle. The workwear features a timeless look, was chosen among the finalists for the 2023 German Sustainability Award Design and complies with the motto "designed to be recycled": The buttons, threads, fabric and dyes are all 100% compostable, while the hanging tags are made of wood fibres, which make them biodegradable, as well.

The standard for new raw materials

This means that the clothes decompose within about 400 days and can be returned to the natural cycle, for example in a home compost heap or via industrial composting. As a result, the material can be returned to nature and new raw materials can be produced.

In addition to cotton, the uvex suXXeed greencycle planet collection makes use of a special polyester, which decomposes within a very short time due to the co-polymer structure. Only materials and ingredients that are proven to be free of harmful substances and do not have any harmful effects on human health are used.

Sustainable from start to finish

Furthermore, the Cradle to Cradle™ Gold certificate ensures that no process chemicals enter wastewater. uvex suXXeed greencycle planet clothing is produced using renewable energy sources. At the same time, at least 50 percent of direct on-site emissions are offset.
