Different focus types for prescription safety spectacles
uvex prescription safety spectacles are individually adapted to the wearer's vision while also offering the best possible protection in the workplace. All spectacles are certified and marked in accordance with the latest eye protection standard, so they can be used in workplaces where safety spectacles are mandatory. The wide range of different focus types allows individual visual requirements for specific lines of work to be fulfilled.

Single Vision Standard
Corrects defective vision caused by long or short-sightedness.
Single Vision HD
Free-form single-vision lens. Individual parameters such as cornea vertex distance, frame wrap angle and inclination are taken into account for the manufacturing of these lenses and dioptres are calculated to an accuracy of one hundredth.
Single Vision Relax
An invisibly integrated change to the correction value of +0.5 dpt in the lower zone of the lens eases the strain on the eye when looking at near distances (so-called accommodation support).
The distance correction remains unchanged.
- Segmentation height measured according to the line of sight when looking straight ahead
- Minimum segmentation height: 15 mm
Bifocal lenses
Bifocal lenses correct both the wearer’s ametropia and presbyopia.

Bifocal Standard
- Visibly ground segment for near vision (“reading field”)
- Instant wearer acceptance thanks to a distinct edge which helps eyes to adjust
- Intermediate zones are not corrected (minimum segmentation height: 9 mm)
Comfort lenses
Comfort lenses correct both the wearer’s ametropia and presbyopia and have been optimally adapted to the required working distances.

Nahcomfort Standard
- The perfect solution for working distances between 30 cm and approx. 2 m
- The intermediate zone of the lens surface is determined by the degression chosen and is designed for a distance of approx. 60 to 80 cm
- Three versions available, depending on the required prescription for reading distance (addition) and the age of the wearer
- All that is needed to place an order are details of the close-range values and the required design (type A, B, C)
Type A | Type B | Type C |
---|---|---|
Degression** 0.75 dpt | Degression** 1.25 dpt | Degression** 1.75 dpt |
Addition < 1.5 dpt | Addition < 1.75 to 2.25 dpt | Addition > 2.25 dpt |
< 50 years | 50 to 55 years | > 55 years |
** Degression: correction reduced, based on the close-range value
Tip: Ideal for use in VDU spectacles. About 60% of degression is active at the centring cross, so the recommended adjustment applies on the main line of sight.
- Segmentation height measured according to the main line of sight
- Minimum segmentation height: 17 mm
Nahcomfort Optima
- The perfect solution for working distances between 30 cm and approx. 2 m
- The intermediate zone of the lens surface is determined by the degression chosen and is designed for a distance of approx. 60 to 80 cm
- All that is needed to place an order are details of the close-range values and the required design (type A, B, C)
- The inner surface of the raw lenses is calculated and manufactured taking into account the correction, the lens curve and the distance between the eyes.

Distanzcomfort Optima 1 m
- The perfect solution for working distances between 30 cm and 1 m
- By specifying the viewing distance required at the workplace, the correction zones will be calculated individually
- To place an order, details of the distance and close-range values (addition), the maximum viewing distance (one metre) as well as the eye measurements (distance between the eyes and fitting height) are required
- Recommended adjustment applies to the line of sight when looking straight ahead, distance values and addition
- Segmentation height measured according to the line of sight when looking straight ahead
- Minimum segmentation height: 17 mm
Distanzcomfort Optima 2 m
- The perfect solution for working distances between 30 cm and 2 m
- By specifying the viewing distance required at the workplace, the correction zones will be calculated individually
- To place an order, details of the distance and close-range values (addition), the maximum viewing distance (two metres) as well as the eye measurements (distance between the eyes and fitting height) are required
- Recommended adjustment applies to the line of sight when looking straight ahead, distance values and addition
- Segmentation height measured according to the line of sight when looking straight ahead
- Minimum segmentation height: 17 mm
Distanzcomfort Optima 4 m
- The perfect solution for working distances between 30 cm and 4 m
- By specifying the viewing distance required at the workplace, the correction zones will be calculated individually
- To place an order, details of the distance and close-range values (addition), the maximum viewing distance (four metres) as well as the eye measurements (distance between the eyes and fitting height) are required
- Recommended adjustment applies to the line of sight when looking straight ahead, distance values and addition
- Segmentation height measured according to the line of sight when looking straight ahead
- Minimum segmentation height: 17 mm
Varifocal lenses
Varifocal lenses correct both the wearer’s ametropia and presbyopia.
- Gradual transition from distance to close-range zone, known as progressive lenses
- Invisible progression also corrects in-between distances
- Clear vision at all viewing distances
- May require an initial phase for adjustment

uvex anatomic
We use lenses with a base curve that is identical to the curvature of the frame. Prescription values are recalculated based on the inclination of the lenses and are taken into account during the glazing process.
Conventional prescription spectacles:
The planes of the right and left lenses are virtually congruent.
Spectacles with more strongly curved lenses:
The planes of the right and left lenses are strongly tilted toward one another.
